Aired: 6/11/2021
Tsukuda, Tokyo, where the downtown streetscape and tower mansions coexist. The stage is the “Jizo statue” located at the end of a narrow alley. It's a place you might pass by without noticing, but people come here casually. People come with various wishes—for health, business prosperity, or reconciliation between spouses. Some come without any specific wish, simply to reset their minds each day. With nearly 300 years of history, the Jizō statue remains there, unchanged, despite societal transformations. For three days, we listen to those who visit this unique space in the heart of the metropolis.
