To make matters worse, he notices a ceiling sag that could mean big structural problems. A host of other serious issues threaten the budget and timeline.

That is, until control freak David becomes an interior design diva and makes life difficult for Jonathan with a growing list of expensive add-ons. Living under the renovation in the basement starts to wear on the couple, but it doesn't stop David from making one more adjustment to the plan.

As the couple races to the airport, Jonathan might be facing his stiffest challenge to date, and a honeymoon suite hangs in the balance.

The couple must make tough choices right away when a higher price eats into the reno budget. Jonathan plays with luck by testing an old superstition during the demo. Plumbing issues add to Caitlin and Steve's stress as they live through the chaotic construction. But things really come to a head when Jonathan gets ready to tackle the kitchen. With time ticking away, the couple struggles to keep cool as they tackle additional obstacles and disagreements.

An unusual source warns Kate and Dave about doing renovations but, nevertheless, they get to work on renovating their new home. When Jonathan finds multiple plumbing issues, the couple's financial plan could get flushed. And as the crew works overtime, Kate and Dave's daily visits and nitpicky questions start to grate on Jonathan.

13. Rose & Giancarlo

After selling their condo, Rose, Giancarlo, and their daughters are camped out in her parents' tiny basement. They want a spacious, one-storey house with a gourmet kitchen close to good schools. Once they buy into the plan, Rose and Giancarlo start second-guessing Jonathan at every turn. Their late breaking changes cause major delays, yet impatience still gets the better of Giancarlo. And his offer to help with the wiring turns out to be no help at all.
