Sixteen footballers aged 18 to 26, all rejected by top clubs, arrive at a unique training camp. This week, they are joined by Premier league star Bruno Fernandes. Throughout the four-week process, they’ll be visited at regular intervals by presenter Roman Kemp, who once dreamed of becoming pro himself, and who will talk with the players about the experiences that have led them here. Based at Manchester City’s former training ground, the club has been set up by former Premier League player Gifton Noel-Williams. Together with coaches Jordan Broadbent and Lola Ogunbote, he wants to give these boys a second chance and see whether one-to-one mentoring, both on and off the pitch, can get them back in work, in the game they love. Gifton needs the boys to turn into a team fast so that they can play in front of scouts who could offer them professional contracts again.

Roman watches disaster hit at the first game in front of scouts. Scott has a dilemma after an offer from a lower league, and there’s anguish for captain Jake.

Adebayo ‘The Beast’ Akinfenwa leads a session on using power and size. There’s joy as one player scores a contract, and tough decisions as two more fall behind. With Roman Kemp.

Anton Ferdinand teaches how to psych out opponents as the squad prepare to face their first full men’s team. Locker room banter boils over. George talks to Roman about his stress.

Jordan gets a high-stakes trial, but the coaches are worried about his self-control. In an emotional heart-to-heart, Gifton opens up to Roman about the pressure to succeed.

Champion freestyler Liv Cooke visits. It’s the final game and as Roman watches from the touchline, one player stuns the scouts. For others, there are difficult decisions to make.
