Stavros Zalmas
Stavros Zalmas (Athens, 30 April 1958) is a Greek actor. He was born on 30 April 1958 in Athens, where he spent his childhood. After finishing school, he studied Economics, while after finishing his studies he started working at the National Bank of Greece. At the same time, while working as a bank employee, he began his studies in acting as he wanted to become an actor. After the end of the first year of his theater studies, he played in Epidaurus in the play “Persians” collaborating with Alexis Minotis. This was followed by the theatrical play “A Strange Interlude” in the winter of the same year. For some time, he worked simultaneously both at the bank and in the theater. In the late 1980s he took part in the film production "The Marbles" while a short time later he participated in the films "Troes" and "The Kiss". In the 1994 season, the series Bold Stories Episode: "Divided Love" and Episode: "Portrait" on ANT1 He made his television debut in the drama series "Africa" on Mega Channel in the 1992-1993 season, playing Alexis Koumenakos. In the 1995-1996 season, he starred alongside Natalia Dragoumi in the drama series "Temptation" and in the 1997 series "A Night Like This" on ANT1. The role that made him particularly recognizable to the general public was that of Father Ioannis in Manousos Manousakis' drama series "Touch of the Soul" on ANT1. There, in the 1998-1999 season, he played a priest who falls in love with the young iconography student Despina Apergi (Theophania Papathoma), getting involved in a forbidden love affair that shocks the local society of Ioannina. The series was a huge success, surpassing 3 million viewers in some episodes. After the great success of the series, he returned to television in the 2000-2001 season, collaborating again with Manousos Manousakis in the series "Erotas Kleftis" where he played Stavros, a man who works for a night godfather and during a robbery in a wealthy house, he meets and falls in love with Eleni (Viky Volioti). In the 2003-2004 period, he joined the cast of the second season of the social series "Kiss of Life", while in the 2004-2005 season, he starred alongside Eleni Zioga, Stelios Maina and Elisabeth Moutafi in the series "Metrao stykimis". In the 2006-2007 television season, he collaborated with the television station Alpha TV, taking part in the dramatic series "An m' agapas" and "Margarita". From 2007 to 2009, he starred alongside Natalia Dragoumi and Nikos Sergianopoulos in the mystery series "The Disappearance" directed and produced by Stratos Markidis. In 2010, he collaborated again with Markidis in the film comedy "I Love Karditsa". In the 2011-2012 season, he starred alongside Bessie Malfa and Giorgos Ninios in the daily series "Einai Stigmes" on ANT1. He returned to television in 2019, taking part in the American series "Bulletproof".
